Pre-Holiday Stress Reduction Qigong In-Person

The Hotchkiss Library of Sharon’s Qigong workshop series continues on Saturday, January 6 from 10:00-11:30 am. Qigong is an ancient Chinese exercise form, created centuries ago to promote strength, flexibility, and resilience in the body, mind, and spirit. Often referred to as “moving meditation”, Qigong is designed to transform stress into vitality, while also providing a balanced work-out.  Current research verifies that Qigong can improve balance, lower blood pressure, increase joint mobility, decrease pain, and improve mood. Its easily modified exercises are safe, fun, and easy to learn.

The Qigong for Winter workshop will focus on the water element which, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, is associated with the winter season. You’ll learn exercises and acupressure points that are especially effective during this time of year for promoting health and resilience in your joints, bones, kidneys, endocrine system, and brain, all of which are associated with the water element. Join us and experience how all these benefits flow together in one relaxing, energizing workout.
